Grotto of the Resurrection
A Place for Prayer and Reflection
The Little Flower Catholic Parish Grotto of the Resurrection is nestled among 5 acres of beautifully landscaped grounds. As you cross over a bridge to enter the pathway of the Stations of the Cross, you wind down an 800 foot long lighted brick path stopping to pray and reflect at each skillfully crafted cast bronze station.
Grotto History
The Grotto project started with the idea of a high school student for which she ultimately earned her Gold Girl Scout Award. From conception to completion, this project took seven years to complete.
The stations are located along a brick prayer path extending about 800 feet to the Grotto and Sanctuary area.
Each station consists of a three legged steel tower containing a bronze plaque, each depicting one of the 14 stations, and a granite meditation bench.
Five hundred tons of limestone was placed to construct the rock formations in the Grotto.
The air around the grotto is filled with tones coming from the wind chimes attached to each tower.
In the sanctuary area you will see life size statues of the Resurrected Christ and Mary Magdalene as well as a granite altar and pulpit.
The statues and stations are lit nightly.
