Little Flower offers Catechesis of the Good Shepherd on Sundays (9:15-10:45 AM) for children in PK to 3rd grade and on Wednesdays (6:30-8 PM) for children in PK to 4th grade. Catechesis of the Good Shepherd came about through the work of two Roman Catholic laywomen in Rome, Sofia Cavalletti and Gianna Gobbi. They were inspired by the educational principles of Maria Montessori, also a Catholic. The materials they prepared for children, since 1954, were based on the Bible, the Roman Catholic liturgy and sacraments, Tradition, and Church teachings.

Children at Little Flower begin faith formation at age 3 in what is called "the atrium," a community in which children and adults live together a religious experience which facilitates participation in the wider community of the family, the church and other social spheres. The atrium is a place of prayer, in which work and study spontaneously become meditation, contemplation and prayer. The atrium is a place in which the only Teacher is Christ; both children and adults place themselves in a listening stance before his Word and seek to penetrate the mystery of the liturgical celebration.

Students in 4th and 5th grade on Sunday mornings use the Pflaum Gospel Weeklies to guide their weekly prayer and study. Middle school will be meeting in a youth ministry format for classes.

All parents are encouraged to join their children for Sunday mass before or after faith formation, at 8:00a.m. or 11:00a.m.
